Healthworx Ventures Joins SafeRide Health’s Series C Funding
Transportation access can play a huge role in long-term healthcare outcomes.
According to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, more than one in five adults with limited public transit access forgo health care because of transportation limitations.
One solution? SafeRide Health, a technology and services company dedicated to reducing barriers to care by improving the delivery of non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) to people nationwide. The team works directly with Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and provider programs across the country.
To continue scaling its NEMT services, the team announced a Series C funding in Q3 of this year. The Healthworx Ventures team was thrilled to invest in this round, furthering our commitment to improving health access, outcomes and equity.
Emily Durfee, Director of Corporate Venture Capital, shared her excitement in the official press release, “SafeRide’s platform meets the needs of CareFirst members on an individual basis rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Thoughtfully meeting social needs, like transportation, means members are more likely to engage with their care plan and achieve better health outcomes.”
Robbins Schrader, CEO and Co-founder of SafeRide Health, also noted what this funding signifies, “We believe every patient, everywhere, should have access to critical and life-sustaining care. In partnership with the nation’s leading healthcare organizations, we can ensure members can get to the right care, at the right time.”
This move is just one of many strategic investments by the Healthworx Ventures team, who invest in high-impact healthcare companies working to drive the industry forward. Healthworx Ventures is uniquely positioned to provide partners with long-term support and offer insight into the payer mindset, access to deep relationships in the ecosystem, and the opportunity to work together to make healthcare better for everyone.
